Overlap and waney edge fencing is normally very similar, as both have horizontal overlapping slats that make up the fence.
The main difference is that waney edge boards have a slightly wavy bottom edge, where the wood has been cut straight from the tree and therefore is uneven. In contrast, overlap fence panels have two straight edges. Neither is better than the other, it mainly depends on your personal preference and taste.
There is both overlap and waney edge panels in the Somerlap range – here's an overview of the main features and differences.
