We’ve entered the Somerset Business Awards and have been SHORTLISTED!
They always say you should blow your own trumpet, and we’ve decided to do just that by entering the Somerset Business Awards.
We have entered two categories: Environmental Achievement (sponsored by Gravity) and the Somerset Manufacturer and Producer Award (sponsored by Garador).
As a company which is almost 40 years old and still family-run, we think we have lots to be proud of. Over the years we have expanded significantly, meaning that we have been able to provide skilled and secure employment for local people (even during lockdown). We currently produce almost 30,000 new pallets a week and refurbish almost 5,000 pallets that are returned to us for repair – that’s a lot of goods being transported on Somerlap pallets!
Over the years we’ve also become more aware of our environmental responsibilities, and have changed our business practices to reflect this. From turning the pallets beyond repair into fuel for our kilns, to installing solar panels and batteries to charge our electric forklifts during out of work hours, we’re constantly looking at ways we can be kinder to our planet.
We’ll find out if we have reached the Finals in January, and the Awards ceremony is being held at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston-super-Mare on March 11.
