This unique toilet shed is the brainchild of Banwell residents tending their allotments. They now no longer need to worry about the effects of too many cups of tea. Thanks to Somerlap (and some creative thinking from the good gardeners of Banwell), they have convenient, year-round toilet facilities right on the allotment.
Bespoke toilet shed
The new loo works within the bespoke shed supplied by Somerlap, and it suits its location at the allotments perfectly. It was arranged by Joe Cornish, whose link to Somerlap staff goes back many years. Joe previously taught Somerlap staff Steve Fraser, Simon Clothier, Paul Shipway and Jeremy Parsons at Churchill School. We've always maintained that sheds are hugely versatile buildings. We have built bespoke sheds for many purposes, from ticket huts to golf course cabins. This is the first time we've created a shed to house a toilet!
Somerlap’s Managing Director Kevin Bond said, “We were delighted to receive a request from Joe Cornish, and were happy to provide the perfect shed for them. We cannot however take credit for the plumbing services!"
