Sarah Mead, who has run the gardens for 18 years, said: “The ticket hut as we call it has been a godsend this soggy summer. It has proved very adaptable and is now also used to sell our own organic garden honey as well as seeds we have collected from the garden.”
“It's become quite a social hub with people sheltering under the front roof for a chat, rain or shine. This winter we are going to ‘pimp’ it up inside to make more of a shop of it next season. We love the fact that it looks sturdy and traditional from the outside but once open for business looks completely different.”
