You may have heard of ‘composite decking’ and wondered what it is? Composite decking is a unique product made from wood and plastic polymers, which makes it very resistant to rot and the perfect choice for a modern garden.

A Somerlap customer bought composite decking from us and used it as part of a total transformation of their garden. They chose composite because it is low maintenance, looks smart and it isn’t slippery when wet – a very important feature in the British climate!

Easy to install

The customer chose HD Dual composite decking and installed it himself (although Somerlap can arrange this for you), finding the process straightforward (as long as the base base/foundation is complete). Once you have the first row of starter clips screwed down, it’s simply a matter of marrying up the decking board to the clips, slotting the second set of clips into the groove of the decking board and screwing them down.

We were delighted to get some excellent customer feedback: “We could not be happier with how the whole process went from start to finish. We have had many compliments on the decking and would highly recommend it to anyone considering the installation of a composite deck. Our garden has gone through a massive transformation, albeit we still have work to do. I would add that Tim at Somerlap could not have been more helpful throughout the whole process, delivering exceptional customer service from our initial enquiry and he continues to do so even after delivery of the product.”
